In this 3hr workshop, you will learn how to create and print a beautiful, one-colour linocut tea towel design. We’ll be using small squares of lino to create repeating patterned tiles that make up a complex pattern on your tea towel. If you have ideas for your tile, please bring them along with you! Check out these Instagram accounts for some inspiration: @Ihaveathingwithtiles @Ihaveathingwithfloors
As well as creating your handprinted tea towel, we will also cover:
• Lino cutting safety
• Materials and where to buy them
• Designing prints
• And how to print more of your pieces at home
All materials will be provided, including one small piece of lino to practice, a bigger piece for your design and scrap fabric to practice printing on. We will stop halfway through for a tea and cake break. Everyone will come away with your own carved block and one handprinted tea towel. Extras may be purchased.
To see what other people have said about my previous workshops please check out my feedback page. There are a LIMITED amount of spaces so please book early to avoid disappointment.
