About a year ago Thierry tagged me in the Liebster Award and I’ve finally done it. Oops. I’m not going to tag anyone specific because it took me so long to do, but if you want to, consider yourself tagged!
1. What is your favourite line from a novel and why?
“We’ll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pine trees and in clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams…And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won’t just be able to take one, they’ll have to take two, one of you and one of me, we’ll be joined so tight…” The Amber Spyglass
Why? Mostly because this part of this book always makes me cry and I think it’s quite a lovely way of looking at death.
2. Would you rather put up an impressionist or an expressionist painting in your home?
Out of those two I’d choose impressionist. But I’d much rather have a Bernini sculpture.
3. What is your favourite cheese?
Cheeeeese. Anything smoked. Oak smoked cheddar or goats cheese are favourites.
4. What would you do with $10,000?
A few months ago I’d have said: Quit my job and work on getting more freelance clients. I’d also have the time to do all of the things that are piling up: portfolio updates, website updates, several personal projects and maybe even some personal pieces! My work situation is actually pretty ideal right now, so I’d probably put half of it towards a deposit for a house and keep the other half in savings as a buffer for when I do decide to take the freelance plunge proper.
5. You swap places with your alter ego in a parallel universe and have to pretend you’re them. What are they like?
That’s hard. They’d probably be someone who was really good at maths or languages – something very academic. They would also probably really like clothes shopping and they would be super good at doing their makeup and hair. Basically it would be impossible for me to pretend to be them.
6. Humanity finally invents a time-machine but the only possible destinations are 1866 and 2166 – which period do you choose?
2166. We already have a decent idea of what happened in 1866 so I’d like to go to the future and see what’s going on there. Also I want to know if Star Trek got it right.
7. Which time period do you choose if it’s a one-way trip?
Also 2166. It’s a risk since who knows what terrible state the planet could be in by then. But also I don’t think they had great medical care or quality of life in 1866 either, so I’d take the gamble.
8. What’s your go-to breakfast?
Porridge. Usually with a banana, but butter, cinnamon and a bit of sugar if I’m feeling decadent.
9. What does your perfect weekend look like?
An actual lie-in where I can read my book with a cup of tea, followed by an awesome cooked veggie breakfast. Then just a load of time to read and draw. Maybe a meal out? Basically a weekend with a lot of good food and no to-do lists.
10. DC or Marvel?
Neither? Can I list some other comics I like instead? Like these: Adventure time, Night In The Woods, Steven Universe, Sex Criminals, Bee & Puppycat, Nimona.
11. If you could find out when and how you are going to die, would you?
NOPE. If I could just find out around when I’d die I would. Like, to the closest decade. But I really don’t want to know how. It’s going to happen at some point but I try not to spend ALL my time thinking about it. If I knew I’d definitely think about it all the time.
